A photo of the whole tree from far enough back to see the top, roughly where it sits relative to the house, and your neighbourhood. If there is a power line anywhere near it, say so — that changes the plan more than anything else does.
Estimates are free and the price is written down before work starts. If the job turns out different once we are up in the tree, you hear about it then rather than at the end.
